MP3 Knife is a very simple and small utility that lets you cut segments out of MP3 files. It is very lightweight, neat, and resource-friendly; therefore it’s suitable for being used even on older computers. Though it cannot be customized or resized, the very simple and straightforward interface requires no learning curve and allows even complete beginners to use this application without any problem. It lets you load an MP3 file and then play it right away, which will help you determine the start and the end points for the cutting. There are no volume controls for the playback, so make sure you don’t hurt your hearing when using this tool to play loud files. Another small downside is the fact that it can process only MP3 files. It cannot load or save audio files of other formats, like WAV, AAC or OGG, but only MP3 files. Re-encoding these files and changing their advanced parameters like bit rate or frame rate upon saving is also not supported.
